Monica Abdurehaman

Monica Abdurehaman graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon. She became inspired to write picture books after reading to her son at bedtime and when new characters gained life in co-creation. Her stories send positive messages to all young children and even adults who read to them. When she is writing or illustrating, she loves to sit close to a window with a cup of coffee in hand.

Once Upon a Time, There Was a Lemon is her first book. The story was created for her son in the struggle to put him down for a nap. It was written in the dark on her mobile phone and illustrated during the following naps. 8 months later, 5 houses and 2 different countries, it's finally published!
