Melanie Ashfield

Melanie Ashfield is originally from Birmingham. Her first book 80's Kid was a humorous memoir based on growing up in the city suburbs in the 1980s. She then moved into children's middle grade fiction and has also ghost written a number of autobiographies with a special interest in penning the life stories of working class Brummies for future generations to enjoy. Nostalgia, childhood and escapism are a particular focus within her writing. When she is not glued to a laptop she is enjoying time with her large family which includes 6 children, 3 step-children and 2 cats.
