Bazooka Joe

As Helen Keller said, “Life is a great adventure or nothing at all!”

I have been fortunate to have had an amazing career and it all started with those tasty “little” cocktails we like to call shooters. I sometimes feel a bit like the character “Kramer” from Seinfeld…who was ”always falling backwards into good luck”. (… and I too could easy be described as “strongly expressive with rather unruly hair”). Please allow me to share with you some of this unbelievable “good luck” and just a few of the experiences I am incredibly grateful for.

I began this life movie as a certified bartender and still have my Serve Pro mixology certification. Being “Paid to Pour” lead to various gigs selling liquor, wine and beer. I then created a recipe book on Shooters which quickly became a bestseller. I followed that by writing the definitive guide to shooters for Playboy Magazine. That lead to a tour with my friends at Kahlua, and certainly a few more shots but many more adventures.

I have been fortunate to have attended some of the best parties anywhere in the world including three Olympic Winter Games (Calgary, Salt Lake and Vancouver), The NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs, Professional Golf events, The Indianapolis 500, The Calgary Stampede, Octoberfest in Munich and a variety Caribbean Marti Gras which are admittedly a bit of a foggy and distant memory.

I am the longest serving President of my local Skal International Club which is an executive hospitality organization with 13,000 members in over 100 countries worldwide (Skal.org). As a hospitality professional, I have enthusiastically met Presidents, Prime Ministers, billionaires - - even the Dali Lama.

I am so grateful to have played hockey with NHL stars, golfed with football legends, skied with gold medal winners, drank with rock stars and sang on stage with country music icons. I have seen an NHL hockey game in the press box 75 feet above center ice and watched an MLB game from the dugout beside the players.

I have been fortunate to have had some crazy life experiences like throwing out the first pitch in AAA baseball, cage-diving with the Great White sharks in South Africa and ringing the bell on the New York Stock Exchange to name but three.

And to think, this wild, life movie started by raising a small glass, making a toast and cheering your friends.
