Karen Ann Ferrell grew up immersed in the arts: music, singing, acting and theatre.The magical and mystical stories she invented made for exciting make-believe play with her three sisters. She developed a strong interest in textiles, needlework and garment construction which led to becoming a costume designer for theatre productions and festivals— with particular expertise in Medieval and Renaissance era garments.
Karen graduated from St. Olaf College with a degree in religion and classical languages. As a church musician and liturgical writer and artist, she has a deep appreciation for the power of art and music. A lifelong fiction writer, Karen loves activities involving word play, reading and writing. She and her husband live in Georgia where Karen continues to sing, sew, design, and produce stunning needlework.
