Rebecca B. Mullican

I am a mother, a grand mother, and a retired school music teacher. I taught music and reading for 35 years. I had several award winning choirs and show choirs during my tenure in different schol systems. In the course of my career I taught every grade from kindergarten to 12th grade. I have also worked with preschool choirs as well as adult choirs and senior adult choirs in my churches . I am a Christian and stay very active in my church and its activities.

I have been married for 49 years to my handsome and supportive husband who graciously helped with all the household duties while I was working on my book. He just didn't know it would take me several years to complete it.

My favorite thing to do is spend time with my granchildren, who are growing up way too fast! I retired when my first grand child was born to be a full time grand mother and baby sitter. I have loved every minute of it. I continue to be active musically in my church and community choir. I am also an avid reader and am still learning new things every day.

For several years I have been concerned about the turbulant times we are going through and began writing songs and psalms about my feelings and experiences. As a musician, the Psalm form was a familiar and comfortable genre for me to write in.

As I began to look back on my life, I discovered that I had many experiences that I could share to help another to find comfort, peace and joy in the things that they were going through. Using my own expereinces and those of family and friends I was led to write original psalms and prayers that expressed how I made it through these things with the help of the Lord God. The prayers in the book are my personal prayers about what we are going through in America, in the church, in everyday life, and in the Christian walk. They can, however, be prayed by anyone.

My book, Seekers of Truth, is an offering to anyone who may need encouragement, courage and faith in the times we are all going through. Subjects include, families, children, death, illness, disappointment, addiction, abortion and many more. I pray that it will help others.
