Maik Ulmschneider

Born in 1977 in Friedberg, Germany, Maik Ulmschneider is an enthusiastic solo sailor and empathic story teller. His enthralling short stories have been published in both US and German sailing magazines with an increasing audience. Sometimes funny, sometimes sad, sometimes silly, sometimes resourceful but always compelling each story gives a remarkably honest insight into a sailor’s soul. Maik who always refers to himself and his boat “Seefalke” as “we”, once described his relationship with is boat as:

Taken apart from each other, Seefalke would just be a piece of worthless scrap metal, and I would be a helpless, pathetic land critter, both of us doomed to drown miserably.
