Billy Ray Griffin

Bill Griffin is 81 years old and has lived in various parts of the south including the early stages of life in Moorhead, Mississippi, in the land of cotton, then Baton Rouge for 28 years where he married and raised his two children, then to Charlotte NC for 7 years and finally to his last workplace stop in the Mobile, Alabama Bay area. His retirement home at present is Spanish Fort, Alabama.

He has always been a writer of sorts but never seriously wrote anything of literary substance until he retired in 2005. Most of his writing is narratives covering his memories of his early years spent in the Deep South as a youngster along with four brothers growing up in a poverty stricken but happy childhood. His marvelous, hard working parents prepped him in the cotton fields and fed him love and a reliance germ that he took and molded along with a keen interest in reading and personal development into a successful career in the Chemical Industry. His favorite authors over the years have been Willie Morris, Mark Twain and William Somerset Maugham.

Bill has written four pieces of non-fiction and hopes to publish them all before his time is up. “A Yazoo Delta Christmas Remembrance” is set to be offered in November of this year. And “A Shroud is Shed” in 2022.
