Tasha Brown

Tasha Brown is an ordained minister, entrepreneur, and faith leader. Dr. Brown, has started many ministries and business ventures. She is the founder of the ARISE Prayer Line which began as an initiative of The Women’s Leadership Network, Inc., but has since branched off to become its own ministry, ARISE Prayer and Outreach Ministries, Inc. She registered the ministry in 2010 and launched it in 2011. She has been serving the ministry for 10 years. Additionally, Tasha served as senior pastor of Galewood Community Church and Executive Pastor of First Baptist Congregational Church. Tasha believes that God calls people to nontraditional forms of ministry and believed God was calling her to minister through entrepreneurship. In 2015, she started Brown Cosmetics, Inc. Through Brown Cosmetics, Inc. she has launched two successful brands, Dem Edges® Tinted Edge Control and Dem Lips® Liquid Matte Lipstick and Dem Lips® Liquid Lip Glass. In 2018 Tasha began working for the Women’s Business Development Center where she has helped hundreds of business owners start or scale their business. She worked as the Associate Director of the Illinois Small Business Development Center at the Women’s Business Development Center before working as the Director of ScaleUp. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in human resource development from Northeastern Illinois University, a Master of Divinity from Northern Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral and Spiritual Care from McCormick Theological Seminary. She is a wife and mother to two teenaged children and a 10-year breast cancer survivor. You can find Tasha either launching a business or helping someone scale their business. She considers herself a serial entrepreneur and believe God has called her to this work for such a time as this.
