DANA MCCALL

Dana McCall was born and raised in Wichita, KS. She is a wife, mother of three boys, and a Retired Army Veteran. Dana is known for her natural ability to coach, teach, and motivate children. She is able to hold their attention, keep them disciplined, and create a desire in them to learn. Dana is a creative. She has been writing stories and music for over 25 years.

Dana is an advocate of change. She is the founder of the Legacy of Negasi Publishing Company which focuses on publishing books to support the positive representation of the black, indigenous and people of color-- with a focus on boys. In order to combat statistics that tell us that black boys can't read, she and her husband host a weekly program, Black Boys Read, which aims to improve reading fluency and comprehension in boys ranging from ages 5-16 years old.
