Jo Robertson

Jo Robertson writes about the recent history of an ancient disease, and one of the great works of disease control in the twentieth century. When she was a researcher at Oxford University, working on the International Leprosy Association’s Global Project on the History of Leprosy, she travelled to India, China, the Philippines, and Japan to learn about the efforts to bring an end to the disease. In the process, she discovered the brave people who had both suffered and recovered from leprosy and who are still fighting for their human rights.
