Miami-based designer Juan Carlos Arcila-Duque hails from Colombia and began his design career in the early 90s in New York City, where he established his first design studio: arcila-duque furniture Interiors inc. His projects span the globe and include private residences, corporate offices, restaurants, and boutique hotels. An avid collector and dealer of photography, Arcila- Duque also serves as co-chair of the Junior Committee for Art Basel Miami.

An early pioneer in the Design District in Miami with his gallery a-d, he showed the works of seminal photographers like Peter Beard, Helmut Newton, Nobuyoshi Araki, Albert Watson, Sarah Moon, and his critically acclaimed monumental nudes show, among others.

Arcila-Duque also curated the first retrospective of Horst P. Horst in America at the Forbes Museum in New York, in Spain, and recently in Istanbul at the Leica Museum Gallery. His most venture, The Art Design Project is an innovative art and design website.

As a designer, his work experience around the world laid the foundation of his style, an elegant mélange of solid colors, antiques, art, and unique artifacts found in his travels, tempered by a modernist aesthetic.

Arcila-Duque's first book was LATIN STYLE Decorating your home, texture, and passion. LATIN STYLE Recipes & decoration for the perfect gathering is his second book.
