John M. Bunker

John was born in the Midwest in 1956 and was raised in the Pentecostal church. His thorough knowledge of the Bible was established early, but his mind still had too many questions to be satisfied. By his 20’s he was introduced to the Urantia Book, a collection of papers reportedly channeled through an unnamed sleeping subject, exploring the vast universe and our place in it. This he found intriguing, but still there were questions. Why were the details of the book’s origin so secret? Was it divinely delivered, or merely a collection of writing orchestrated by one man, Dr. William S. Sadler, a doctor of psychology in Chicago?

Then, in 1993 he met Karen Pressler, another searching soul and Urantia Book student. Something clicked and they began a relationship fueled by their desire to know more about this book and the truth behind it. Shortly after meeting, they discovered another book, There is a River, by Thomas Sugrue, telling the life story of the early 20th century psychic healer Edgar Cayce. This opened up a new avenue of exploration, during which John and Karen’s first book Edgar Cayce and the Urantia Book came about, exploring the possible connection of Cayce and the Urantia Book. The search became bigger than that simple connection as John delved into the Edgar Cayce readings further, finding information about human history that made sense, but disagreed with current accepted historical timelines, dating ancient Egyptian monuments to a much older time. Could it be true? If so, something in the ancient Egyptian texts should verify Cayce’s psychic accounts.

This new avenue of research involved learning to read hieroglyphs, then studying astronomy and ancient Egyptian texts and checking new findings against the Cayce readings. Now, after a quarter of a century of in-depth research and study, the Bunker-Pressler duo has presented their ongoing findings in their many books about Ancient Egyptian history, and civilizations that existed even before even that!

Today, the research continues to unfold, challenging formerly held convictions about the chronology of human history. When not working on research, John now works as the Membership Coordinator for Edgar Cayce’s Association for Research and Enlightenment.
