Simbi Animashaun

Dr. Simbi Animashaun is an educator, author, and nonprofit leader committed to advocating for families navigating autism and grief. With a doctorate in Educational Technology and over 15 years of teaching experience, she has spent her career empowering children, families, and communities through education, awareness, and support resources. As a mother of a child on the autism spectrum and co-founder of Horizon Over the Spectrum, Inc., Dr. Animashaun understands firsthand the challenges and triumphs of raising a neurodiverse child. Her latest book, "Spectrum of Love: My Journey Through Autism," shares her personal experiences alongside practical guidance for families—particularly Black families—seeking early intervention, culturally responsive support, and advocacy tools. Through Horizon Over the Spectrum, she works to bridge the gap in autism resources and empower families with knowledge and community support.
