Anu George Canjanathoppil
Anu George Canjanathoppil has spent the last decade serving in leadership roles with the largest Anti Human Trafficking Organisation in the world. She was the Director of Operations and the Director of National Interventions in Delhi, India. She was also the Director of Legal while in IJM’s office in Chennai, India. In these roles, Anu saw the rescue over 10,000 individuals from the throes of forced labor slavery while simultaneously working to impact India’s justice system. Anu oversaw the training of more than 17,000 police, government officials, and members of varying NGOs on the rescue and rehabilitation of individuals trapped in slavery while bringing criminals to justice.
Following Anu’s noteworthy leadership in India, Anu became the first female CEO with IJM Canada in 2019.
Anu holds a master’s degree in business administration from Edith Cowan University, Australia and a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Eastern University, America. She is a lawyer trained from Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College in Chennai and specialised in Intellectual Property Law from the Indian Law Institute in Pune.
Anu and her husband Sachin live in Ontario, Canada with their twin daughters Tamara and Ila.
