Anne Main

Anne was born and brought up in Cardiff into an ordinary working class background; her parents came from Ely and Roath. She graduated from Swansea University and qualified as a teacher. Her books are based in the city she grew up in, drawing on childhood memories of the old Cardiff before the slum clearances of Tiger bay. Anne has four grown up children and she served as the Member of Parliament for St Albans 2005-2019. Anne was awarded a CBE in 2020 for services to politics. She lives in a village in Buckinghamshire by the Thames with her husband Andrew and her dog Sam and is passionate about gardening. After a busy day writing and researching her books Anne likes nothing better than sitting in her garden with a glass of wine and a good book.
