Brian J. Cahill

Brian J. Cahill is a committed Christian and has been studying scripture since his early childhood. In August 2019 he felt the compulsion to explore the character of Abraham in the book of Genesis, the first book in the Bible.

This led him on the path of discovery. In order to glean more information about Abraham, Brian began to research the ancient manuscripts of the Dead Sea Scrolls, Genesis Rabbah, the Book of Jubilees, the Sedar Olam and Sefer haYasher.

It is very important for Brian to base his fictional account of Abraham on accuracy and truth and he explored historical records such as the Antiquities of the Jews by the Roman historian Flavius Josephus.

Abram son of Terah is Brian's first book and was published in May 2021. The opening event of the Allingham Festival launched his book on 3 November 2021 in Ballyshannon, Co. Donegal. He is currently writing the next book in the series.

Brian is an avid reader but is new to writing. In the past he worked for many years in the manufacturing and maintenance industry. He loves caring for the garden and in 2017 gained a BA in Fine Art and turns his hand to painting and sculpture.

He lives in Ireland, in County Leitrim with his wife and his son and daughter.
