Patrick McWhorter was born in LaGrange, Georgia after WW2 and lived in a textile mill village in the two-bedroom home of his great grandmother and maternal grandparents, along with his mother, four siblings, and three other relatives. Needless to say, the home was crowded. After his father abandoned the family, his mother remarried and the family took up residence underneath the screen of a drive-in theater, where his mother and stepfather were managers and where the young Patrick became a fan of just about every movie that played at that venue. After graduating high school, he joined the military and, because he did not want to miss a war, proceeded to a one-year tour in Vietnam. After military service, he studied Journalism at the University of Georgia and, upon graduating, embarked on a career in advertising that lasted more than thirty-five years. Currently, Patrick has five works of fiction in print and ten non-fiction books on Christian teachings. He and his wife, Laurie, have two married sons and two grandchildren. Patrick teaches discipleship domestically and on the mission field, as well as through correspondence. Check out his books here.
