Conservative and reserve yet full of heart-felt enthusiasm, compassion and life experiences. Joyce LaVerne is a creative language specialist, director, playwright, poet, sign language interpreter and the executive voice of Owl Xpress It, LLC. Her passion is to influence youth and extended families to thrive with their talents using literacy activities. Encountering low self-esteem most of her life, she has been teaching and encouraging positive affirmation exercises to help youth, specifically pre-teens, avoid the same pains. For over forty-five years, she has been available to serve youth. Ms. LaVerne is the published author of Drama in the Rose Garden: A Collection of One-Act Plays. As an inspirational influencer with Owl reJoyce Ministries, LLC, she has written over 700 inspirational messages and is preparing a 30 days devotional and an Empowerment Games Manual to stimulate authentic abilities for publication. She was featured on WXYZ Detroit 20/20 as a “Change Maker.” Owl Xpress It’s 2021 Literacy Campaign is using her signature poem “Owl Strive To Be Successful.” Joyce’s motto is: Owl See It! Owl Say It!
