Mike Horne, Ph. D., is a highly experienced global corporate human resources and Organizational Development leader, distinguished executive coach, best-selling author, and sought-after speaker. His unwavering dedication to empowering aspiring leaders, executives, and teams to navigate transitions, excel in new roles, and increase their effectiveness and influence is truly inspiring.

Since launching his coaching career in 2018, Dr. Horne has successfully guided numerous leaders and teams in adopting goal-directed behaviors that create immediate improvements and long-term behavioral changes that sustain progress. His success in this field is evident from his collaborations with reputable organizations such as Zoll Medical, Impossible Foods, Carta, and BioMarin, among others. Dr. Horne hosts The People Dividend Podcast, a platform where meaningful dialogues, diverse perspectives, and inspiring stories come together to redefine the world of human capital, which ranks in the top 10% of all podcasts globally.

Previously, for nearly three decades, Dr. Horne held pivotal human resources and organization development roles, including the Head of Human Resources for Gilead Sciences’ Research Division, Global Leader of Talent and Development for Brocade, and Head of Organization Development for Genentech. Before these positions, he served for 15 years in human resources leadership roles for Nortel Networks, Marriott International, Towers Watson, and NLRB.

On November 19, 2024, Dr. Horne will release The People Dividend: Leadership Strategies for Unlocking Employee Potential. This highly anticipated book defines the “people dividend” as the return on investment businesses experience through investment in their employees' growth and well-being. It highlights key areas for investment, including building trust, encouraging motivation, ensuring open communication, retaining employees, making better decisions, and enhancing the organization's reputation. Dr. Horne is also the author of Integrity by Design: Working and Living Authentically, which calls readers to their higher purpose and to the aspiration to work and live authentically.

He currently chairs the graduate Human Resources Management and Leadership programs at Golden Gate University (San Francisco). He holds multiple coaching credentials, including Immunity to Change and Positive Intelligence Coaching. He has provided strategic guidance to the American Foundation for the Blind and the American National Red Cross. Dr. Horne is a returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Solomon Islands).

Dr. Horne earned his Ph.D. in Human and Organization Development from the Fielding Graduate Institute. He received a

Master’s in Human Resources and Organization Development from American University and a Bachelor of Science in Labor Relations from La Salle University.
