L M West lives near the Suffolk coast.

Her first novel, 'This Fearful Thing' was published in May 2021 and tells the story of a woman accused of witchcraft in Southwold in 1645. Her second novel, 'The Unnamed' was published in February 2022 and is about the trial of seven women accused of witchcraft in Aldeburgh in 1645. Her third novel, 'We Three', is about three women, all accused of witchcraft by the same man in Dunwich. It came out in April 2023. All are based on true events and confessions and are told from the point of view of the women involved.

'The Red Barn' was published in August 2024 and throws a new light on the infamous Suffolk crime of 1826.

Her latest book, I, Lorina, is the fascinating story of the life of Lorina Bulwer who lived in Beccles and Great Yarmouth and who, in 1898, was incarcerated in the lunatic ward of Yarmouth workhouse where she embroidered vast furious tracts about her life and situation.
