Dan Tilley

I was born in Port Jefferson, New York in 1960 and was the fifth out of seven siblings. There was always something going on! After a few moves on Eastern Long Island, we moved to Titusville, Florida. My father, Harold, worked for Grumman at Cape Kennedy. He was part of the Apollo lunar-module crew. My mom, Marie, was a busy housewife. We boys joined little league baseball which was the inspiration for my second book, "Home Run In The Last Game Of The Season." In 1972 it was back to Long Island. First it was Selden, then Coram, but finally we touched down in Calverton. Dad's new focus was fighter planes and teenagers. These years were the inspiration for my fourth book, "Football Stories and Other Plays." 1979's cross-country bus ride brought me out west. What a ride! I spent some time in Los Alamos, New New Mexico, but eventually I settled and met my wife, Liz, in Durango, Colorado. I earned a BA in Political Science and a teaching certificate from Fort Lewis College. These years were the inspiration for my first book, "Absolutely Hutely, Dan and Hutely Meet the Minoans" which includes an original music soundtrack. In 2004 we landed in Albuquerque, New Mexico. My third book, "Chairish The Love" was inspired by my New Mexico teaching experiences through the years. I dedicate this book to Liz who is also a teacher. I am currently working on another Dan and Hutely historical adventure where they discover the "Ways" of China. It has a new original music soundtrack. I hope my books and music bring, hope, laughter, and love into your reading experience! Dan
