After completing the pre-law curriculum at the University of Tennessee Martin (magna cum laude) in 1960, Tim obtained a JD degree from Vanderbilt (Law Review and Order of the Coif) in 1964 and an LLM from Emory in 1972 (Uniform Commercial Code and Bankruptcy). He retired after 50 years of law practice and took up creative writing, completing the undergraduate Creative Writing program at Georgia State University. Tim kept his law license, however, and does Pro Bono work, primarily for the Eritrean community. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this book will go to the Eritrean community. Tim has been married for 47 years to Ruth Campbell White, a portrait and still life artist. They have a blended family of six children, two of whom are published authors, and two King Charles Spaniels, Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn.
