Rev. Kermit J. Rye

Kermit J. Rye grew up on a farm in southeast South Dakota. He graduated from Augustana College in Sioux Falls and Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN. For three years he served a three-congregation parish in Wittenberg, WI. He then traveled to Scotland where he took additional theological courses at the University of Edinburgh New College.

Upon returning to the States he served a parish at Elk Point, SD for nine years. He then served congregations in Iowa—fifteen years at Grundy Center and nine years at Estherville. He and his wife Doris have two sons, one daughter and five grandchildren.
