Moinak Dutta, also known by his artistic pseudonym Shaivya, is an Indian actor, writer, musician, and singer. Born and raised in Kolkata (formerly Calcutta), he began his journey in the performing arts as an EMCEE, hosting numerous ATL, BTL, corporate, and creative events. His dynamic presence led him to the screen, where he became a finalist in the Sangeet Bangla VJ Hunt, earning recognition for his on-screen charisma and versatility.
Moinak made his acting debut in the 2011 sequel to the cult Bengali film Tenida, portraying the beloved character Habul Sen under the direction of Chinmoy Roy. Over the years, he continued to build a diverse portfolio, including voice acting for various animation films and live-action projects. After shifting to Mumbai in 2018, he worked with filmmaker Danish Aslam in the web series Flesh, sharing the screen with Swara Bhaskar, Siddhant Behl, and Shashie Vermaa.
Under the moniker Shaivya, Moinak ventured into music production in December 2020. Since then, he has released over thirty original tracks across Hindi, English, and Bengali, lending his vocals as a singer as well. His artistic identity continues to evolve—blending storytelling, music, and performance in a unique personal style.
Beyond the performing arts, Moinak finds solace in writing. A graduate in Mass Communication & Journalism from the University of Calcutta and an alumnus of The Future Foundation School, he sees writing as a quiet escape and a way to connect with readers on a deeper, more intimate level. He believes every story creates a subtle thread between author and audience—one that binds experiences, emotions, and perspectives.
