Jared Newson

Jared Newson, born in Belleville, Illinois is a former professional basketball player of 13 years. He is a husband, father, brother and son, and a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated. Jared graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design from The University of Tennessee-Martin in 2006. He was inducted into the basketball Hall of Fame in 2014 at Tennessee Martin and had his jersey retired in the rafters February of 2020. Deemed an Ohio Valley Conference Legend in 2018, he played in six different countries, including France, Poland, Australia, Germany, Finland, North America, and Puerto Rico. He also played in the NBA with the Dallas Mavericks in 2007.

A big fitness fanatic, Jared holds Certified Personal Training, Sports Nutrition Specialist, TRX, and Strength and Conditioning Specialist certifications. He travels globally to train athletes ranging from grassroots to NBA players. He’s held several speaking engagements to discuss the importance of mindset, physical health, and having that “it” factor.

Jared is the founder of the non-profit organization Seat At The Table (seatatthetable.online), whose mission is to reach each seed planted. Seat At The Table aims to empower youth, one life at a time to multiply the harvest for the benefit of humanitarian love. Seat At The Table’s vision is to educate, mentor and demonstrate the necessary tools in order to adequately align each kid with the knowledge of all his or her peers. Aiming to alleviate the lack of societal knowledge for all youth, Seat At The Table offers two scholarships per year for a male and female high school student at a local high school in Indiana.
