Roxana Jullapat

Roxana Jullapat is the founder and co-owner of Friends & Family in Los Angeles. As a baker with over 20 years of experience, Roxana aims to create breads and pastries that reflect her appreciation for ancient grains and California's seasonal abundance. She is native to Southern California and daughter to immigrant parents of Costa Rican and Thai descent. She spent most of her childhood and early adulthood in Costa Rica where she learned how to bake and write. In her first cookbook "Mother Grains: Recipes for the Grain Revolution" Jullapat offers creative and delicious ways to incorporate whole grains into your baking.
