Dantas Solo

I discovered literature very early, spoken literature, narrated by my maternal grandfather - "Father Luís" - an exceptional storyteller. Soon after, already in my pre-adolescence, I discovered in comics, a universe that would accompany me throughout my life.

I didn't have a literary education or training in that sense, I was pushed in that direction by the love of songs and their translations. Marginal poetry, beatnik, hai-kai, counterculture and everything that permeated rock, mysteries and legends; everything attracted me like a magnet.

In the 80s, after the death of John Lennon, and already framed by existentialism and with a foot in surrealism, I formed my first band. Since then, between compositions and LP and CD recordings, I have discovered myself as a humanist and with an abnormal tendency towards depressive states. Some friends and enthusiasts, after reading some poems, urged me to take a more aggressive stance towards literature. "_ Write more stories and books, you have talent."

I am a son of the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, Pantanal region, Brazil. I couldn't help but feel the poetic strength of Manoel de Barros up close, and soon after his involvement with rock, the immense fury of Caio Fernando Abreu and his Morangos mofados (Moldy strawberries). Not only that, but I believe I did not absorb - the influences of the great classic writers, but rather of the universe of fiction and prose. Likewise, I believe I bring more of the characteristics that make up cinema scripts, adult comics, or "Pulp Fiction". In any case, I find it impossible to engage or captivate an audience without the backing of sincerity.
