Dr Ruth T Logan

Dr. Ruth T. Logan, Ph.D., attended St. Augustine’s College (University) receiving a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1990. She obtained a Master of Science in Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics from the University of Maryland (Baltimore) in 1997. In June of 2017, Dr. Logan received her Doctor of Philosophy degree from Keiser University in Educational Leadership.

Dr. Logan has over 30 years of experience in the education field, she has worked with the learning-disabled/special needs population for 30 years while serving as a teacher, program manager, program director, high school principal, and entrepreneur. Dr. Logan began her journey in education as a 1992, corps’ member of Teach for America. Dr. Logan has taught in New York City’s Public-School System, Baltimore City Public Schools, Montgomery County School System (private & transitional settings) and the District of Columbia School System (private setting).

Dr. Logan founded and opened The Monroe School in September of 2006 in the Northeast quadrant of the District of Columbia a non-profit 501 (c) (3) school. In 2007, Dr. Logan founded The Maya Foundation Inc, (Metropolitan Alliance for Youth Advancement) a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization to assist students with academic scholarships to attend schools, programs, participate in various school-based activities, and to provide financial assistance to those students desiring to attend college. In February of 2021, Dr. Logan founded Building Bridges Educational (BBEC) Center to serve as an additional resource center to support students and young adults attending college, to support the retention of students in college to see their way to graduation, and to support young adults transition to a trade, vocational, or work setting.
