Edel is a qualified life and business coach, also a fitness instructor with a background in the hotel/cleaning industry, health and safety, and fitness industries. Over the last few years Edel has worked on the Matchstick Mini book's series with her nieces and nephews. The Matchstick Mini books are created using Edel's work experience in different industries combined with her nieces and nephews' ideas and life coaching background. Edel created this children's book range to encourage children to be creative and safety conscious from an early age, keeping health, values, safety, and manners in mind. Edel encourages others to make good choices and connect with others in a positive way while having a healthier attitude towards life. Edel is currently working on more books to add to the Matchstick Mini book range and is excited to publish more books. In this book series, Edel uses the word adult throughout the books instead of mammy, daddy and parents etc. Not all children have parents. Sometimes children are in the care of other family members while being raised or when on a fun day out, aunties, uncles etc. The book range is geared towards encouraging conversations between adults and children about topics of health, safety, creativity and good manners and values. Edel is passionate about creating safety and positivity in daily life. Illustrations were created with Edel's nieces and nephews and Matchstick Mini is a big favourite with children and adults. The font and size of font used throughout the Matchstick Mini books is suitable for children with dyslexia. Edel's niece is dyslexic and Edel took this into consideration when designing the Matchstick Mini books. Matchstick Mini is ideal for the mini people in your life. The Matchstick Mini books are suitable for age five to eight, however some of the Matchstick Mini books are suitable for older and younger children, especially the seasonal Christmas, Halloween and St. Patricks day books, which can be enjoyed by all family members. The Matchstick Mini and grief book is ideal to use as a tool to talk to children about grieving.
