Nimi Kurian

Nimi Kurian's books have received great reviews from her readers. She spent the major portion of her life writing for children. The subject of her stories ranges from spooky to environment to historical and sometimes nonsensical.

She lives in the Blue Mountains of the Nilgiris with no cat and no dog, but a husband. Her two sons are finding their place in the world.

Before she began writing she got a degree in Philosophy from Madras Christian College in Tambaram. It was when she wanted to shake things up, that she began to write.

Most of her books have been set in the little town of Coonoor in the Nilgiris, where she grew up. The perfect climate, the wooded walks, gurgling streams and the grey, swirling mist that rises up from the valley added just the spice needed to be inspired.
