Jack Miller

Jack Miller – expanded bio (summer 2020)

Jack Miller is an author, professor, speaker, and podcast producer who has been teaching and writing about political philosophy and American politics for over 25 years. He has held positions in such far-flung places as Romania, Azerbaijan, Mississippi, and Seattle. He is currently a senior instructor in political science at Portland State University and is the host and producer of The Pothole Problem Podcast. His two novels — 1994, a novel of politics (2019) and Invisible Empire (2020) — explore enduring political dynamics through the lens of historical fiction. Invisible Empire, set amid the rise of the Ku Klux Klan in Astoria, Oregon in the early-1920s, is based on real events that prefigured our own tumultuous, deeply divided times.
