Eike Exner

Eike Exner is a translator and historian who writes about Japanese comics and the history of comics as a medium. He came to research manga via a PhD in Comparative Literature with specializations in Japanese literature and visual studies. In 2022, his first book, Comics and the Origins of Manga, became the first work on manga to receive the Will Eisner Comics Industry Award for Best Academic/Scholarly Work.
