James Clammer was born in Bristol and grew up in East Anglia. He's been a plumber, a postal worker, and many other things. He now lives in Sussex, where he writes in a shed at the bottom of a cliff. James's first novel, Why I Went Back, was nominated for the Carnegie Medal and longlisted for the Branford Boase Award. His new novel, Insignificance, is published in May 2021 (UK) and September 2021 (North America).
