Marilyn Jacobson White

Marilyn Jacobson White is a happily married Kansas woman with six grown children—two of her own and four step-children. She also has a great black cat and two not-so-great previous marriages that have supplied oodles of memories from which she has harvested stories for twelve published books.

Her current husband was her high-school sweetheart whom was lost to her for twenty-five years. After about seven heavenly years in her marriage, she began to craft her novels, based upon her reunion with the love of her life. The majority of her stories have the central theme of a second chance at love, but always with a back-story of her Christian faith and values leaking in between the cracks as well as some of the miseries from her other two marriages. Her primary writing goal is to share uplifting stories to bring pleasure to the readers but also to engage their subconscious mind with Biblical principles. She never preaches to the readers, but only gives them a glimpse into her characters’ faith and how it influences their choices.

Marilyn has published two children's story books, eleven novels, one poetry book, and three journals and is writing more, leaning toward new avenues of coloring books and self-help books.

Her most recent published romance novel, A Bride’s Bridge, is the third in her Brides Series. Mustang Bride and Brides in Boots were the first two—introducing characters which appear in all three of the books. She gives the reader fascinating stories about romance, intrigue, step-children, career changes, and death. Most of her books are set either in Kansas or Washington State but A Bride’s Bridge explores the city of Beirut, Lebanon when her characters become engrossed with the American Ambassador’s handsome elderly legal advisor as well as his grandchildren who are orphans from the Ukraine war.

This series as well as three other novels and her poetry book were all self-published using KDP Amazon. The Broken Pianist (a novel) and Played into His Hands (poetry) explore relationships which quickly deteriorate due to the man’s narcissistic personality and the woman’s vulnerable state as she has become dissatisfied with her career as a concert pianist.

You and Me Forever and He’s No Prince—A Second Chance at Love are unrelated stories but both play upon the return of a man into a woman’s life whom she thought she’d never see again. There are elements of a mythical mermaid and Greek goddesses in You and Me, and He’s No Prince has the woman desiring a Cinderella-style romantic prince to sweep her off her feet.

Marilyn’s first experience with publishing was with Tate Publishing from Oklahoma City. With them, she published five novels: Goldstone Inn, Volume 1; Goldstone Inn, Volume 2; Goldstone Weddings; Christmas at Goldstone Inn; and Son of a Nun. The novels were all professionally edited and styled and Marilyn admits they taught her a great deal about publishing. However, there were eye-opening things about publishing she didn’t know but she later discovered. Tate Publishing was a vanity publisher, and even though they claimed to be a Christian publishing company, they were not beyond the reach of greed and corruption. The Tates are now in prison on charges of embezzlement and racketeering as well as other crimes. They weren’t providing serves to their clients as contractually promised, but more than that, they were stealing their clients’ royalties. This experience was financially devastating to Marilyn and their other clients, but she didn’t let it stop her. She explored the avenue of self-publishing and is confident her self-published books are even better than those published by the Tates.
