Paul Trafford lives in Oxford; his paternal ancestors have lived in the area through several centuries past, whilst his mother, the late Fuengsin Trafford, about whom he has written a biography, was from Thailand.
Paul holds postgraduate degrees in mathematics, computer science and the study of religion, and has spent most of his working life in higher education and museums, mainly in the field of IT. He is Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Oxford History of Science Museum.
He has served as Buddhist Faith Advisor for the University of Derby and as Trustee of the International Interfaith Centre in Oxford. He was also a founding Director of the Dhammakaya International Society of the UK.
