Olympia Scott is the first woman in history to win a WNBA Championship with two different teams, doing so in 2005 with the Sacramento Monarchs and in 2007 with the Phoenix Mercury. She was also the first woman to play a WNBA season, get married, have a baby (BreAzia Richardson), and return to action the following season, helping set the precedent for mothers playing in the WNBA. Ms. Scott was instrumental in the formation of the Women's National Basketball Players' Association and served on its Executive and Negotiating Committees and as the Secretary-Treasurer for multiple terms.
Before playing in the WNBA, Ms. Scott was a 4-year starter for the Stanford University Women's Basketball Team, where she earned a BA in Sociology, was named Team Captain, All Pac-10, All-American, a finalist for the Naismith Player of the Year Award and became a member of Delta Sigma Theta, Sorority, Inc. Ms. Scott also won Gold and Bronze Medals for the US National Team, and in 2013, she was inducted into the Stanford University Athletic Hall of Fame.
After playing a decade in the WNBA and 11 concurrent seasons in 6 different European countries, Ms. Scott became an author/creator/entrepreneur/speaker on a mission, starting with co-founding Super Parenting, LLC, a parenting education company, and co-authoring the book, Super Parenting: Raising the Next Generation. Ms. Scott also served as a sports ambassador for the US State Department and represented the WNBA & NBA, traveling internationally, providing basketball clinics, motivational speaking, and Super Parenting seminars.
Although her basketball career is over, Ms. Scott's true legacy has just begun. She is a charismatic leader and change agent with an inspiring energy she uses to connect people to positive messages of hope and responsibility as she endeavors to change the world!
