MR Ray John Knapman

I have been a keen walker since my teens . Since retirement I have roamed the UK with my camera recording my walks and contributing them to the Geograph Project. I decided to use these recordings to write a book which was published in 2015 by Sigma Press titled North West England Walks by car ,bus and train. This has sold out and is currently waiting a reprint, which I intend to do in the near future. Having got the writing bug and under lockdown during the pandemic of 2020/21 I decided to self publish a second book ..."Lancashire Waterside Walks" with Amazon .. This was followed by "Great North West England Walks" ,published in 2023 . I have just published my 3rd book with Amazon titled "Greater Manchester Walks by car bus and train" . This book contains walks which include my interest in the sites of the rich industial heritage to be found in the region.. I am a member of the local U3A walking group and still enjoy walking and exploring the North west England region .
