Bryan W Simon

Bryan W. Simon never thought he would direct a movie or write a book about ventriloquism. A screenwriters’ strike changed all that, inspiring him to rediscover an art form that reawakened his inner child. An award-winning and critically acclaimed director, writer, and visualist, some of Simon’s feature films include the smash hit comedy documentary I’m No Dummy, the first feature length film on ventriloquism; the big screen adaptation of the Tony® Award winning Broadway show, Jay Johnson: The Two & Only!; and the indie darling, Along For The Ride. He has written the coffee table/calendar book I’M NO DUMMY EVERYDAY: 365 Days of Ventriloquial Oddities, Curiosities, and Fun Facts as well as articles on filmmaking for MovieMaker magazine, No Film School, The Wrap, and others. He has been a guest instructor in directing and filmmaking at various universities and colleges and was the co-producer of the educational seminar series at the American Cinematheque in Hollywood. In addition, Bryan was the Founder and Artistic Director for the Chicago area Stage Two Theatre Company. Bryan and his wife, film producer Marjorie Engesser, proudly serve on the Vent Haven Museum Board of Advisors. Visit his website at: www.bryanwsimon.com
