Marius Dettmer

Dr. Marius Dettmer is a scientist and expert in the fields of Biomechanics, Orthopedics, and Neuroscience.

He has had a lifelong fascination with how the brain controls muscles to create movement using sensory information. For over 15 years, Marius has supported and conducted research projects studying the effects of aging, disease, and even spaceflight on movement and balance in humans. His main interests are falls in healthy adults and patients, and how technology and structured exercise programs can lead to decreased risk of falls in such populations.

Marius holds a Ph.D. from the University of Houston and has authored numerous medical book chapters, conference abstracts, college textbook chapters, and peer-reviewed scientific articles in German and English language. He is the creator of the novel preventative exercise program “Boost Your Balance”, which aims to improve older adults' quality of life by enhancing balance and preventing falls.
