AT Conway

I come from a large family in the North East of England and have 6 children and 8 grandchildren. In my early life I travelled as a member of the Foreign Office and lived in Hungary, Egypt and Belgium before settling for a number of years in London and then Kent. Moving back to my roots in the north led me to research where my family came from originally and discovered that only 3 generations back they were mainly Irish. Having been a civil servant, a teacher and a hypnotherapist I took the plunge and decided to work towards publishing my first novel. I was greatly helped by studying for an MA in Novel Writing with Middlesex University and from this realised that I could use the story of one of my ancestors to inspire my novel. The Blue Stone is a fictional story based on the facts I discovered about Michael McCormick, my three times great grandfather, and the journey he could have made from his birthplace in Ireland. I have always written stories and started a few books which I never completed and owe a lot to my writer son, Patrick Potter— who has an author page here on Amazon—and encouraged me to actually finish something! (Also please leave a review after reading The Blue Stone!)

I have added two photos here. The formidable lady is Mary McCormick, my great great grandmother who the character of Mary Maguire is based on and the banner is that of Cornsay Lodge where Michael-Michan in the story- worked.
