James G. Brown

Growing up, author Jim Brown spent hundreds of hours exploring remote Eastern Canada and the Appalachians. He built a career in agriculture and international finance, traveling to rural areas in developing countries around the world with the World Bank and other international agencies. As an author, he's known for creating relatable characters and weaving vivid imagery.

In the late 1990s, Jim and his wife Camilla settled in the shadow of the Blue Ridge Mountains where the "Two Roads Home" stories began. “I was only an hour from Dulles Airport but living in a rural setting restored the grounding in nature I had known as a young man, he says."

Currently, an adjunct professor of international development policy at the George Washington University, Jim has published articles on life in rural Virginia and books in the field of agroindustry and rural development.

His historical fiction novels include "The Morning Side," "Fletcher's War," Out of Eden," and "The Purpose Breaks," (Forthcoming). A stand-alone collection of connected books sharing the saga of an era through the divergent stories of two men connected only by their love of the Blue Ridge Mountains. In 1966 one goes to Vietnam and the other to college and joins the Peace Corp.
