Dear Reader,

All my life I have wanted to entertain children, it’s probably due to the fact that I have never grown up and always felt like a child inside, no matter what my body dictates. I loved creating characters for my daughter when she was a little girl and her favourite was always Goby the goblin. I could not afford to buy books when Bianca was very young, her father left home soon after she was born so life was hard and my father was very poorly with a mental illness, so I could not rely on my parents. But, when life deals you a bad hand you just have to make the best of what you have and crack on.

Most of my life has been in sales, working in the corporate world with big targets and stressful pressure but I love people, I am a real social creature. So it was easy to engage with my customers and my colourful methods of persuasion won me many awards, this is where my creative imagination kicked in and worked in my favour.

Writing about Goby and his adventures has been my panacea during the pandemic of Covid 19, I would get up every morning and sit and write for at least an hour, it became a compulsion, I couldn’t wait to get up and continue my writing.

It helps that I live in the beautiful Calder Valley in West Yorkshire near the enchanting town of Hebden Bridge, its well worth a visit. It is a place that makes you want to be creative!

I felt it was important to sketch my characters so that you could come to love them like I have, and I am now half way through writing my next book of Goby’s adventures.

Anyone can write a story, it just depends whether you want to share it or not.
