I am the founder/CEO of the Teach Well Alliance. I support schools to develop a culture of staff wellbeing and mental health. If schools don't look after their staff, the staff won't be able to care for the pupils.
My whole-school change programme, the Teach Well Toolkit, leads to:
* A decrease in staff absence due to stress
* Increased staff retention
* Improved morale and engagement
* Higher pupil attainment
I have been self-employed for 10 years and a company director since 2017. I have over 45 years' experience in secondary schools, including as a Head of English, Head of Drama, Assistant Principal and a member of a local authority school improvement team for 6 years.
I am a Founding Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching and an elected member of council. I have an MA in Education, an Advanced Diploma in Educational Management and hold the National Professional Qualification in Headship (NPQH). I am a qualified Counsellor and a First Aid for Mental Health Instructor (Ofqual regulated).
I have four grown-up children, one of whom is a Psychology teacher, and I live in Manchester, UK.
