Sharon believes good medicine lives within each individual’s story. As an wri who finds guidance and truth in the ordinariness of daily living, Sharon values the creative voice in each individual and believes all of us have a right to live within a community that supports all voices. As a child of the 1960s who grew up within the picket fences of white privilege, she believes her story, and the story of others like her, can provide a map for confronting and understanding white ignorance and the deep wounds of racism, one story at a time. With her first book, Circling Toward Home, she exemplifies her belief that writing can be a transformational act of confrontation, acceptance, and reconciliation.
An award-winning career English educator, Sharon has been a member of writing groups from Texas to California for three decades. Sharon makes a home these days in California with her two wise rescue dogs. She publishes weekly on Medium at https://sharonhopefabriz.medium.com/
