Teressa Waters

Teressa Waters creates an atmosphere for deep, meaningful reflection through poetry and spoken word. She presents the wonderment of God’s truth in a powerful, profound way and encourages you to align your actions with the message. A wife, mother, grandmother, and woman of deep faith, Teressa makes her home in the Washington Metropolitan area. She holds a Master of Education in Early Childhood Education with a social and emotional learning focus, and is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., an organization at the forefront of cultural awareness, effective advocacy, and social change. Following a decades long career as an educator and child wellness advocate, Teressa added community-focused entrepreneur to her list of accomplishments. As co-founder of Artesian Enterprises, LLC, Teressa pursues "ventures that inspire," using photography and unconventional materials found in nature to create one-of-a-kind works of art. She enjoys spending time outdoors, listening to music, and long walks in pleasant places. These activities, she says, “Help keep me grounded and connected to the Vine,” a place where she experiences inner peace, feels free to reach outside of her boundaries…free to reflect…free to change. Teressa’s introductory poem, “…Who I Am…?” speaks volumes to the freedom she now knows through Christ. Whether she is a river, a mountain, a flame, or a breeze, she combines her gift of teaching and inspiring with her love for poetry to ignite a flame that only the Living Water can quench.
