Ralph V. Wilson M.D. began his orthopedic practice in Mesa, Arizona, in 1970, after completing a residency at Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tennessee. He grew up in Iowa and spent seven years at the University of Iowa for his undergraduate and MD degrees. His two years in San Bernardino as an intern and surgical resident preceded a two-year military obligation at Fort Polk Louisiana and Vietnam.

He remains active in his community, church, Rotary Club, orthopedic practice and hospital-related positions. He also remains involved in sports, hiking, tennis, and golf.

His medical missions to eight countries have been rewarding, providing a contrast to the U.S. lifestyle.

His three children and six grandchildren all live within seven miles of his home. He credits his wife Marilyn for her guidance and support.
