Nadin E Hopfer

In her work as a spiritual guide, Nadin has helped many people get through the most challenging crises in their lives. Her spiritual wisdom helps them illuminate their own inner truth, both the bright side and the dark side. This guidance helps her clients come to a deep understanding of and a new perspective on their joys as well as their suffering. Nadin’s deep well of compassion comes from her own difficult personal experiences.

In her day-to-day interactions with those who seek her guidance, she’s come to realize that before becoming a guide herself, she had to do a lot of inner work. She became convinced that most of us have a vision of ourselves in a “perfect life” of our own making, but in reality no one lives a perfect life. She realized that in her path to spiritual growth, the moment her life transformed was when she stopped pursuing that perfect life. By accepting the imperfections in her life, in her memories, and in herself, and by learning how to embrace them, she saw her life with a new lens.

She realized that the shame, guilt, grief, and fear that she had experienced as a child and young adult had to be de-constructed and perceived from a different viewpoint. This somewhat painful, challenging process was necessary in order for her to grow as a person and ultimately help others who were suffering. She spent two years in deep meditation, uncovering her own shadow side. Little by little, she brought her fears to the surface and illuminated them with a new perspective. She brought the truth of her own buried emotions up to the surface. By learning to accept everything about herself, she began to tap into her own potential and spiritual power. She learned to be her authentic self.

Now there is no holding back. Nadin uses her personal and spiritual power to guide others who are struggling on the path. This is her mission and her passion. Knowing that problems are often deep-seated and as far back as early childhood, Nadin compassionately helps others to face the deep inner truths that may be preventing their personal growth and ability to deal with the crises in their lives. Once her clients have tapped into that deep, personal, inner wisdom, the path becomes more clear and the challenges, joys, and suffering in their lives takes on a different meaning and becomes a more beautiful vision.

As Nadin has continued in her practice, she’s also tapped into her long-held dream of writing for children. Her first children’s book, The Magic Lake, is a wondrous, enchanting story. Told in lyrical prose, The Magic Lake is a memorable story with layers of meaning that will be uncovered with each joyful reading.

It is simple enough for children to understand, but it holds great spiritual truths, which will resonate with children of any age as well as adults. The wise heron in the story could be seen as the child’s higher inner self, a self that might not be fully accessible until the child is older. Another way to view the heron is as a wise spiritual guide, either seen or unseen. The young girl in the story, Mia, is taken on a spiritual journey by this wise, beautiful blue heron. From a great height, as she flies on the heron’s back, Mia can see the magic lake below. The lake is a lake of memories. Over the course of her life, the magic lake will grow and be fed by four rivers.

Both as children and as adults, we often think of our memories as happy. But, in reality there are four rivers of emotions that make up most of our memories. These emotions are sadness, happiness, anger, and fear. It’s only by understanding these deep emotions and how they blend together that we can fully understand our life path and the perfection of our imperfect lives. This is the core of The Magic Lake.

It is Nadin’s fervent hope that families will share this story and that it will be the beginning of conversations about these four important emotions. These emotions are not good or bad. They simply are. It’s the way we choose to handle the emotions that has consequences for others as well as ourselves. It is also her hope that children and adults will be able to embrace these light and shadow emotions as they learn to accept themselves throughout this journey we call life.
