Michael Emmery

Michael Emmery was born in former Yugoslavia. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics at Zagreb University, Croatia, majoring in Political Economy. He earned a Master’s Degree from the Faculty of Economic Sciences at Belgrade University. Serbia, in the field of Economic Development. He also holds two Diplome d'Etudes Superieures of Economic and Political sciences, and a Ph.D. in the domain of International Affairs from the Sorbonne University, Paris, France.

Emmery served two four-year terms as Director General Assistant of the Federal Bureau of Planning, two terms as Vice-Governor of the National Bank of Yugoslavia, and one unfinished term as the Governor of the National Bank of Kosovo. He was a coordinator and a member of many working teams and groups both in Yugoslavia and on the multilateral level.

Emmery is a published author and is fluent in several languages.

Due to his opposition to Slobodan Milosevic's agenda, Emmery was forced to leave Yugoslavia. He has lived in the United States since 1990.
