Heather Dawe

Heather Dawe is a writer, artist and leading AI expert, working in industry as a Chief Data Scientist. A recognised AI Thought Leader, Heather has appeared on the BBC, Sky News, and has written for numerous national and international news publications including The Guardian, Financial Times and Economic Times.

Away from her day-job, Heather’s writing and painting are inspired by mountains. Her books include the memoirs Adventures in Mind (2012) and Mountain Stories (2021), and a collection of short astories - Dreams of Lost Buttresses (2023) - which was shortlisted in the 2024 Banff Mountain Book Competition.

She has written non-fiction and short stories for print and online publications including The Guardian, Alpinist and UKClimbing. Heather was an editor of Waymaking and guest edited the 2022 edition of The Himalayan Journal. She also founded and runs the small publisher Little Peak Press (although she is taking a two-year break from publishing to focus on her own projects).
