Hi good folks! I'm a social justice educator and activist, and a parent of 12- and 9-year-old boys who have privilege because of race, class, gender, and ability. I have a tall task in raising kids who have privilege to move through the world honoring principles of equity and justice. I’ve aimed to center social justice in my parenting from day one - and the more caregivers I can partner with on this journey, the better! In 2015 I brought together a group of parents to talk about how to center social justice in our families. The rest is history. I have taught social justice in a variety of settings over the past decade, including community groups, schools, pre-schools, co-ops, with law enforcement, and with parents. I'm a co-founder of the Root Social Justice Center, ACT for Social Justice, and Equity Solutions. I have an MA in Social Justice from the School for International Training, and BAs in Spanish and Social Work. Over the past year I have learned volumes through an intense journey with stage 4 breast cancer and because of that, that I now prioritize healing in everything I do. I have a deep belief that a just and equitable world is possible, in fact, it is on its way! Join me in bringing about that world.
